MLA Style
MLA Style refers to the style guide developed by the Modern Language Association.
The 8th edition of the MLA Handbook (commonly referred to as MLA 8) was published in 2016. New in MLA 8:

Researchers can now use one standard citation format, regardless of resource type.

Containers are used when the source is part of a larger whole. For example, a short story is the source, but the anthology it came from is the container.

It is now considered good practice to always include a URL in the citation for an online source.
-
City of publication is no longer required.
